Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe

These Peanut Butter Cookies are golden, chewy, and packed with nutty flavour. Perfect for a sweet snack with a cup of tea or coffee.

1 cup Butter / Margarine
2 cups Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
3/4 cup Crunchy Peanut Butter
3 cups Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 cup Milk
Pinch of Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C.
  2. Cream together 1 cup butter or margarine and 2 cups brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in 2 eggs, then add 3/4 cup crunchy peanut butter and mix well.
  4. Dissolve 1 teaspoon baking soda in 1/4 cup milk, then add to the mixture.
  5. Stir in 3 cups flour and a pinch of salt to form a dough.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls, place on a greased baking tray, and flatten each with a fork.
  7. Bake for about 10 minutes or until light brown.
  8. Cool on a wire rack before serving.

  • Use crunchy peanut butter – It adds extra texture and a satisfying crunch to the cookies.
  • Chill the dough – If the dough feels too soft to roll, chill it for 20–30 minutes to make shaping easier.
  • Don’t overbake – The cookies will firm up as they cool, so remove them while they are still slightly soft in the centre.
  • Make them extra nutty – Stir in a handful of chopped peanuts before baking for an added crunch.
