
Cheesy Broccoli and Bacon Casserole Recipe

This cheesy broccoli casserole is a comforting side dish for any occasion. The bacon, leek and cheese gives it lost of flavor.
- 1 1/2 cup Broccoli
- 1 Leek
- 4 rashers Bacon (streaky)
- 1 cup Cheese (grated)
- 2 tbsp Oil
Cheese Sauce
- 3 tbsp Margarine
- 1 1/4 cup Milk
- 3 tbsp Flour
- Salt & Pepper (to taste)
Cut broccoli into smaller pieces.
Boil for 2 minutes.
Put into a casserole dish.
Slice leek and dice bacon.
Fry in 2 tablespoons cooking oil.
Sprinkle over broccoli.
Cheese Sauce
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Melt margarine over low heat.
Stir flour, salt and pepper into margarine.
Add milk bit by bit stirring all the time until smooth.
Boil for 2 minutes.
Add ½ cup cheese and stir until melted.
Pour sauce over broccoli.
Sprinkle rest of cheese over the top.
Bake 25 minutes or until light brown on top.
