Vegan Choc Chip Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Margarine
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup White Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
- 3/4 cup Choc Chips vegan
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 Egg Replacer
- 1 1/2 cup Flour
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C.
- Cream margarine and sugars, add salt and vanilla essence beat until mixture is light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg replacer and baking soda.
- Add flour and mix well.
- Lastly add choc chips.
- Drop tablespoons full in a greased baking tray.
- Flatten the top slightly.
- Bake for 15 minutes or till light brown.

Choc Chips
Choc chips are small morsels of sweetened chocolate. They come in teardrop, square or rectangular shapes. They are used in biscuits, puddings, muffins, crêpes and various pastries. They are also found in some ice-creams and trail mixes.
Choc chips are made to keep their shape that is why they don’t melt when baked in choc chip cookies. It doesn’t melt as easily as cooking chocolate.
Choc chips were created in 1937 when Ruth Graves Wakeflied of the Toll House Inn in Massachusetts added chopped chocolate bar to her cookie dough. In 1939 she reached an agreement with Nestlé to add her recipe on the chocolate bar packaging in exchange for a lifetime supply of chocolates.
Nestlé started selling choc chips (or morsels as it is also called) in 1941. Nowadays you can get many flavours of choc chips such as butterscotch, peanut butter, white chocolate, mint chocolate and dark chocolate.
Chic chip cookies are so delicious that they are now a great favourite worldwide.
