
Yellow Rice Recipe
This Yellow Rice is lightly spiced with turmeric, sweetened with raisins, and finished with butter for a comforting side dish that pairs beautifully with curries and stews.

1 cup Rice
3 cups Water boiling
1 tsp Brown Sugar
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Turmeric
1/2 cup Raisins
1 tbls Butter
Instructions
- Rinse 1 cup rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Bring 3 cups boiling water to a gentle boil in a saucepan and stir in 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp salt, and 1 tsp brown sugar.
- Add the rinsed rice to the saucepan and cook until nearly soft.
- Drain the rice in a sieve, then add 1/2 cup raisins.
- Steam the rice and raisins for 20 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and fluffy.
- Stir in 1 tbsp butter until melted and well mixed.
- Serve hot as a side dish.
