600g Mince
1/2 pkt Onion Soup
1/4 cup Tomato Sauce
1 Egg
2 tbsp Water
1/4 tsp Mixed Herbs
Batter
1 1/2 cups Flour
1 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
Pinch Salt
2 Eggs beaten
1 1/2 cups Milk
3 tbsp Melted Margarine
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C.
- Grease a 24cm x 24cm ovenproof dish.
- In a bowl, mix 600g mince, 1/2 packet onion soup powder, 1/4 cup tomato sauce, 1 egg, 2 tbsp water, and 1/4 tsp mixed herbs until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into rissoles and place them evenly in the ovenproof dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 1/4 tsp baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
- Add 2 beaten eggs, 1 1/2 cups milk, and 3 tbsp melted margarine to the dry ingredients. Mix until a smooth batter forms.
- Pour the batter evenly over the rissoles in the dish.
- Bake for 60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve hot with vegetables or a fresh salad.

- Brown the rissoles first – For extra flavour, lightly brown the rissoles in a pan before baking.
