Bread & Butter Pudding with Pineapple Recipe

Who would think that old bread would make such a nice dessert. Bread and pineapple makes a decadent dessert that young and old will enjoy and it does not take long to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 can Pineapple
  • 8 slices White Bread thick
  • 4 Eggs
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Margarine melted
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar for the topping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Grease a 20cm x 20cm ovenproof dish. 
  • Remove crust from bread and cut into cubes. 
  • Mix lightly with crushed pineapple. 
  • Beat the eggs and the brown sugar. 
  • Add melted brown gradually to the egg and sugar. 
  • Combine egg mixture lightly with the bread and pineapple. 
  • Spoon into the prepared dish. 
  • Sprinkle ¼ cup brown sugar over the top. 
  • Bake for 40 minutes until crispy on top. 
  • Serve hot with ice cream or custard.
