Vanilla Cake Recipe

Servings 10 slices

Ingredients

  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 cup Margarine
  • 1 cup Milk

Cake Topping

  • 1 pkt Instant Pudding
  • 2 cups Icing Sugar
  • 6 tbsp Margarine
  • 1/4 cup Milk

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180ÂșC.
  • Beat eggs and sugar well.  
  • Sift flour, baking powder and salt into the eggs. 
  • Mix. 
  • Boil margarine and milk. 
  • Add to the rest of the ingredients. 
  • Add vanilla. 
  • Spoon batter into two tins and bake for 30 minutes.

Cake Topping

  • Cream the margarine. 
  • Add sifted icing sugar and instant pudding.
  • Add the milk a little bit at a time. (You may not need all the milk). 
  • Beat well.
  • Stand for 2 minutes to stiffen.
